I am writing to demand immediate impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump. His constitutional violations since January 2025 are documented and severe. Federal judges appointed by five presidents have ruled against his overreach 39 times in four months. Conservative legal expert Richard Painter, George W. Bush’s Chief White House Ethics Counsel, supports impeachment investigations.
On September 30, Trump held an unprecedented military meeting at Quantico where he told generals and admirals to use American cities as “training grounds” for troops. He named Chicago, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and Washington as targets, calling it “a war from within.” This violates the Posse Comitatus Act, which bars military law enforcement without congressional approval. Trump has already illegally deployed troops to Los Angeles and Washington. Federal Judge Charles Breyer ruled September 2 that the Los Angeles deployment was illegal, stating Trump was “creating a national police force with the President as its chief.”
Also on September 30, the Department of Housing and Urban Development plastered its website with messages blaming the “Radical Left” for the government shutdown. Ethics experts called this a blatant Hatch Act violation. Trump is using taxpayer-funded government websites for partisan political attacks. This follows a pattern of political weaponization across agencies.
On September 25, Trump’s DOJ indicted former FBI Director James Comey after Trump publicly demanded it. U.S. Attorney Erik Siebert refused because the case lacked merit. Trump forced him out and installed Lindsey Halligan, his former lawyer with zero prosecutorial experience. She filed the exact charges Siebert rejected. Eight federal prosecutors resigned in protest. This is not justice. This is revenge.
On June 21, Trump bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities without congressional authorization. Article I gives Congress alone the power to declare war. Republican Representatives Thomas Massie, Warren Davidson, and Marjorie Taylor Greene questioned the constitutionality. Constitutional scholars confirmed Trump violated the War Powers Clause. Representative Al Green introduced impeachment articles. The House blocked them, but the violation stands.
Trump has defied federal court orders. On March 15, Judge James Boasberg ordered deportation flights stopped. Trump proceeded anyway. Judge Boasberg found probable cause for criminal contempt. On January 20, Trump issued an executive order ending birthright citizenship. This directly violates the 14th Amendment. Reagan appointee Judge John Coughenour called it “blatantly unconstitutional.” Trump also systematically pardoned January 6 attackers and sold pardons to donors, eliminating $1.3 billion owed to crime victims.
These violations span all three branches of government and undermine the rule of law. If Congress fails to act when a president conducts unauthorized wars, weaponizes the Justice Department, defies courts, violates the Hatch Act, and illegally deploys troops against American cities, the Constitution means nothing. I urge you to support articles of impeachment immediately.
