An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (Texas only)
Your Constituents Want a Town Hall Meeting!
16 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!
I’m writing to you as a constituent to ask you to host a town hall in our district focused on gun violence—an issue that continues to affect Texans across all communities.
Gun owners, law enforcement, medical professionals, young people, parents, and survivors all have something to say about how gun violence is impacting their lives, their communities. We deserve an opportunity for you to sit down with your constituents and have an honest, open conversation where we put party affiliation and politics aside to talk about how to make our communities safer.
Now that the 89th Texas Legislative Session has wrapped up and with campaign season still a ways off, we’re hoping you’ll take this as a moment to listen—to connect with the people you represent and hear a wide range of perspectives on this issue.
Many Texans feel they have not had the chance to speak directly with their legislators. Hosting a town hall now shows that you’re willing to engage directly with your constituents on something we all care about, regardless of where we stand politically.
Thank you for your time and your service. I hope you’ll consider holding a town hall on this issue in the months ahead.
