Protect Medical Privacy: Oppose RFK Jr.'s Dangerous Health Records Proposal

I am writing as a concerned constituent to oppose Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s proposal to access Americans’ health records for autism research.
This proposal is a grave violation of privacy rights and medical confidentiality. Granting broad access would undermine trust between patients and healthcare providers. It would open the door to misuse, discrimination, and stigma, especially for vulnerable groups like neurodivergent individuals.
Health records contain deeply personal information and must not be accessed without informed consent. There is no justifiable reason to override privacy protections on such a massive scale.
The narrative behind this initiative promotes dangerous myths about autism. It wrongly associates autism with environmental factors, lacking credible scientific support. This misinformation fuels stigma instead of fostering understanding and inclusion.
We must support neurodiverse communities with respect, services, and real investment, not harmful speculation.
I urge you to publicly denounce this proposal and defend Americans’ privacy rights.
Research must always uphold informed consent and protect personal medical data. Protecting the dignity and rights of all Americans must remain a top priority.
I hope I can count on your leadership to reject measures that threaten these fundamental principles. Thank you for your time and attention to this important matter. I look forward to hearing your stance.
