Key findings from this poll include:
Widespread Opposition: A majority of Americans now oppose the Republican budget and tax plan. Support for the plan has notably decreased since May, particularly among independents.
Benefits for the Wealthy and Corporations: A major concern is that this plan will primarily benefit the rich and big corporations. Seven in ten Americans, including a majority of independents (73%) and non-MAGA Republicans (60%), state they could not support an elected official who voted to give new tax breaks to the rich and large corporations.
Medicaid Cuts: The proposed budget includes cuts to Medicaid healthcare benefits for millions. More than half of Americans (57%) oppose the bill, with a significant portion (46%) specifically due to the Medicaid cuts. Voting to cut Medicaid is considered a "dealbreaker" by majorities of Americans.
