Demand Accountability for Systematic Torture of Palestinians by Shin Bet

The recent disclosure of an Israeli government report acknowledging systematic torture of Palestinians by Shin Bet during the 1988-1992 Intifada period, is deeply troubling. This, along with B'Tselem's estimates that around 85% of Palestinian detainees were subjected to such treatment, highlights the need for immediate action. It is crucial to recognize that these actions do not constitute self-defense. Therefore, a call for a permanent ceasefire and an end to US funding to Israel is necessary. The reintroduction of physical interrogation techniques must be prevented to avoid further human rights violations. The focus should be on fostering peace and respect for human rights, rather than perpetuating cycles of violence and oppression.
