The "Patriotism Not Pride Act" (H.R. 4398): Suppressing Recognition of LGBTQIA+ Identities This proposed legislation, the "Patriotism Not Pride Act" (H.R. 4398), would prohibit federal agencies from recognizing or supporting Pride events and displays for the LGBTQIA+ community. Banning federal agencies from developing, endorsing, or participating in Pride-related activities marginalizes an already vulnerable population. Pride celebrations promote visibility, equality, and human dignity for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Denying this recognition enables further discrimination and stigma against the community. Protecting diversity and freedom of expression should be prioritized over attempts to erase the identities of LGBTQIA+ Americans. This discriminatory measure undermines core American values of equality and liberty.
