Object to the nomination of Ed Martin: Defender of insurrection

I strongly object to the nomination of Ed Martin as the permanent U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C. Martin has defended the January 6th Capitol rioters and served on the board of an organization that supports those charged in the insurrection attempt. Appointing someone who enabled and excused that violent assault on American democracy to be the top federal prosecutor in our nation's capital is an outrageous dereliction of duty. We need principled public servants committed to upholding the rule of law, not partisan loyalists hand-picked to advance an anti-democratic agenda. I urge you to reject this nomination and demand the President nominate a qualified candidate who will faithfully execute the duties of this critical office without bias or political interference.
