An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives
Protect Our Democracy from Foreign Tampering

I am writing to you as a concerned citizen, deeply troubled by the ongoing revelations regarding foreign interference in our democratic processes. The findings of both the 2019 Mueller report and the 2020 Senate report have highlighted the "grave" counterintelligence threat posed by numerous contacts between the Trump campaign and Moscow. These reports underscore the vulnerability of our nation's democratic institutions to foreign influence and manipulation.
Recent developments in the House Oversight Committee's inquiry into President Biden have further compounded my concerns. It has come to light that the primary source of evidence for this inquiry is an FBI informant previously charged with "lying to the FBI and manufacturing false records" relating to the Biden family's business activities in Ukraine. This individual reportedly obtained their information from Russian intelligence sources, raising serious questions about the integrity of the committee's investigation and the potential for foreign disinformation to shape our political discourse.
It is particularly alarming that Committee Chair James Comer and Rep. Jim Jordan have disseminated this information as factual, without apparent consideration of its origin or veracity. This situation begs the question of whether there has been any deeper involvement or coordination with foreign entities intent on destabilizing our political system.
In light of these developments, I urge you to support a comprehensive investigation into the matter. It is imperative that we fully understand the extent of foreign tampering with our elected officials and take decisive action to safeguard our democracy from such insidious threats. Our nation's security and the integrity of our democratic institutions must not be compromised.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and to seeing your leadership in ensuring the protection of our democracy.
