Why do comments such as these by Steve Bannon go unchallenged, unnoticed and unacknowledged by the GOP Congress?
Explain the intent of the executive order Trump signed on August 25, calling on the secretary of defense to “immediately begin ensuring that each State’s Army National Guard and Air National Guard are resourced, trained, organized, and available to assist Federal, State, and local law enforcement in quelling civil disturbances and ensuring the public safety and order,” and “ensure the availability of a standing National Guard quick reaction force that shall be resourced, trained, and available for rapid nationwide deployment.”
Explain the escalation from 300 troops to be stationed in Alabama and Arizona as a “Domestic Civil Disturbance Quick Reaction Force” to 23,500. And the troops will be in every state and territory.

Trump is constantly referring to the Insurrection Act, saying that if he invoked it, “I’d be allowed to do whatever I want. But we haven’t chosen to do that because we’re…doing very well without it. But I’d be allowed to do that, you understand that. And the courts wouldn’t get involved. Nobody would get involved. And I could send the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines. I can send anybody I wanted.”
So let’s review. The administration is stoking unrest by the constant barrage of misleading videos showing the country in chaos due to a well-organized leftist revolutionary force embedded in the citizenry.
Administration officials use every media source available to parrot the same false talking points.
Trump is steadily reorganizing the military to fight these forces. He is escalating force against citizens, often unprovoked, to create a sense of mass civil unrest.
He then sends in more troops. Even enlisting other states to do his bidding by sending him their own National Guards.
He overrides state sovereignty by ignoring governors. He has created a fictional society that he says is chaotic, out-of-control and rebellious.
He perceives peaceful protest or civil disagreement on any level to be seditious.
What do you think is going to happen next?
This. He’s creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. Because we the people do not just stand idly by when we see the danger to ourselves and our country. So we will react to save what we believe to be important. We will fight the power.
Too bad you guys won’t do the same.
