National Guard is NOT Trump’s Secret Police

The deployment of the National Guard by Trump to take control of Washington D.C.'s police force is an alarming overreach of federal authority that undermines local governance. The National Guard exists to support states during emergencies, not to be weaponized against American citizens exercising their constitutional rights to protest. This is a dangerous precedent that could enable the federal government to suppress free speech and civil liberties under the guise of maintaining order. We must vocally oppose this undemocratic power grab and uphold the principles of local control and citizen oversight of law enforcement.
