I shouldn’t have to tell you that the Big Beautiful Budget Bill is a sham to further enrich and appease the oligarchs of this nation — it’s absolutely shameful. All these cuts and revisions that 1) further cut Medicaid benefits to a level even worse than outlined in the original bill; 2) the proposed selling and access to public lands for commercial extraction industries - once they’re gone, they’re gone forever; 3) a 10-year ban on AI regulations — enough time for AI to own us by then, and 4) eliminating IRS direct file, as if filing taxes wasn’t hard enough. These are not solutions that will save the country money, as the long-term ramifications will be more costly — and none of this will even make a dent in the deficit. You want to cut costs, cut the military just 10%. That will cover all this and more. Tax the wealthy their fair share. That will generate appropriate revenues not seen since in decades. End corporate subsidies when these mega-companies are already profiting in the billions. The republican budget bill is a sham. Period.
