Oppose & Vote NO on nominee Dean Sauer for Solicitor General

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you in the strongest possible terms, to reject Dean Sauer's nomination for Solicitor General. Nothing this man says can be believed. He’s a lawyer, so he won’t perjure himself, but his past actions are suspect, for example: As a Trump-appointed federal judge, Sauer has a documented history of disregarding binding precedent and court orders. This troubling behavior signals a willingness to place ideology over impartial jurisprudence, undermining the foundational principles of an independent judiciary. Sauer has already made headlines for suggesting — during multiple court hearings — that he believed a president should not face prosecution even in extreme cases like assassinating a political rival. They would have to be impeached first by the House and convicted by the Senate. Ludicrous. His answers this week before the Judiciary Committee in the Senate raise red flag concerns about the erosion of judicial authority and the rule of law. He has clearly signaled he will ignore the law when it’s convenient for this Administration. Sauer's defiance of the federal courts represents a profound threat to the system of checks and balances that safeguards American democracy. In light of his concerning record, l urge you to reject his nomination as Solicitor General, and Vote NO.
