Protect America’s Roadless Lands—Uphold the Roadless Rule

I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to defend one of the most important conservation measures in our nation’s history—the Roadless Area Conservation Rule. This policy protects 45 million acres of our most pristine public lands from destructive development. These lands are not just acreage on a map; they are some of the last intact landscapes in America.
They safeguard clean headwater streams, native trout habitat, old-growth forests, and vital wildlife corridors. They protect quiet, wild places where Americans can still experience the awe-inspiring beauty of our country. And they provide a natural legacy that future generations should have the right to explore, cherish, and protect.
Efforts are now underway to weaken or undo these vital protections. Such actions would put our public lands at risk of harmful development, irreversible damage, and the loss of irreplaceable natural resources. Once roads and industry intrude, these lands can never be fully restored.
I call on you to stand firm and protect our nation’s wild heritage. Uphold the Roadless Rule. Protect these last great wild places. Safeguard the clean water, thriving wildlife, and enduring beauty that belong to all Americans.
The American people are watching, and we are counting on you to speak up and defend our public lands.
