The Senate's recently passed bipartisan infrastructure bill includes some important climate provisions, but it falls far far short of what we need to avert climate catastrophe.
We need Congress to pass a second, stronger bill to combat the rising dangers of climate change. This budget bill must slash climate pollution, speed up the transition to clean energy and electric vehicles, fully invest in safe drinking water infrastructure, clean up abandoned oil wells, and protect our health. It must NOT include ANY subsidies or tax break for oil, gas, or coal companies. We have given them too much for far too long only to the detriment of our climate and future. Support in individual tax credits for installation of personal and small business solar and wind installations and make community solar and wind investment cheaper and easier to access. It will free us from fossil fuels while creating millions of jobs in manufacturing and installing all of the new energy supply. This should have been done 40 years ago when we knew conclusively that we had a problem but you can prevent the problem from getting worse by supporting green energy Now.
