Make consumer protections great again

The role of the DOJ is to enforce laws, not to create policy or dismantle agencies that Congress has created through a democratic process. Congress must fulfill its constitutional responsibility to oversee and protect the integrity of agencies like the CFPB. It is imperative that Congress step in to reaffirm the importance of the CFPB’s role and ensure that the DOJ’s actions are kept in check. This will help preserve a financial system that works fairly for all consumers, not just the powerful or privileged few. I urge you to take swift action to ensure that the rights of consumers are protected and that the legislative and judicial branches, rather than the executive branch, are the ones making decisions of such profound importance.
