The Combating Organized Retail Crime Act uses the pretense of preventing organized retail theft to drastically expand the Trump administration's ability to surveil anyone visiting a retail center or public space. This bill has far-reaching privacy consequences for all Americans and could also disproportionately impact Black, brown, and immigrant communities. As your constituent, I'm calling on you to reject CORCA and protect our privacy. Mass surveillance does not keep us safe. Vote no on CORCA, and any other federal criminalization legislation that would expand surveillance, increase incarceration rates, and harm our civil rights and liberties.
