Block the $1T Pentagon Budget and Musk Handout in the "One Big Beautiful Bill"

I am asking you to reject the massive increase to the already bloated Pentagon budget. Our taxpayer priorities should be on the safety net, public goods, and public health - not increasing the military industrial complex. The 'One Big, Beautiful Bill" that House Republicans have been working on is a disaster for our country. It has added an excessive and unnecessary $150 billion for the Pentagon tipping the total budget over the $1 Trillion mark. This increase is accompanied by massive cuts to the social safety net. The Pentagon has failed several of its past audits - which should make it ineligible to receive funding increases; this is true waste, fraud, and abuse of my tax dollars. Also worth noting, part of this massive Pentagon increase includes a $25 billion earmark for the “Golden Dome” project. An effort this large has an estimated total budget in the hundreds of billions to trillion dollar range, far exceeding the initial $25B investment proposed in this budget - and is simply not worth it. Especially since this will significantly benefit Elon Musk - Elon Musk’s SpaceX has proposed a plan for the Golden Dome, including a launch of 400-1000 satellites to track and destroy missiles. The proposal includes an offer of a “subscription service”-style partnership with the Department of Defense, essentially locking the United States into a payment plan. This is a HUGE conflict of interest and has Elon, yet again, with his hands in our government. I want my tax-dollars to go to LIFE-GIVING initiatives, like Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, public education and special education supports, public health interventions and disease tracking, national parks, city infrastructure for safe drinking water and safe roads, clean air and caring for the environment. Vote no on this horrendous bill.
