WHERE’S THE TRANSPARENCY? RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES
1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
A couple of things as the House flees, whoops, returns home to answer constituents questions about the new American pastime,…what did the president know about Jeffrey Epstein? And when did he know it?
Today a federal judge in Florida rejected the DOJ request to unseal grand jury transcripts from investigations of deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
This is a head-scratcher. AG Bondi said she has the files. So why the need for less than enlightening grand jury testimony?
And the WSJ today reported that AG Bondi informed Trump in May about his name appearing multiple times in the documents.
So why did the president deny that he was told he was in the files?
Pressed last week on whether Bondi had told him he was named in the documents, he said, “No, no. She’s given us just a very quick briefing.”
Memory loss? Or lying?
And it sounds like August 11 is the day Congress hopes to have Ghislaine Maxwell answer their Epstein questions. Even if she refuses to answer under the 5th, I expect the questions asked, and who asks them, will be enlightening all on their own.
We’ll see if a divided Congress can actually unite to search out the truth about sexual abuse against minors or not. Or if even a topic of such magnitude will become just another political banality.
This issue is not going away. Too many promises were made to we the people. Even if politicians have lost sight of right and wrong, the American people still draw the line at child abuse.
And we hope you would too.
Release the files. Show us the reams of evidence available. If there is nothing to hide, prove it.
You would think President Trump would want to clear up all the confusion. And clear his name. Because nothing he’s done so far has done anything but convince us where there’s smoke, there’s fire. And that birds of a feather do tend to stick together.
I leave Stephen Colbert the last words on this…”The more we know about Trump’s relationship to Epstein, the more we wish we didn’t.”
But he brought it all on himself. And now on to all of you too.
