Demand Full Transparency in Food Labeling: Every Ingredient Matters

I write to you today to express my deep concern regarding the use of vague terms such as "natural flavors" and "spices" by food manufacturers to conceal thousands of ingredients in their products, ranging from food colorings to animal derivatives.
For the millions of Americans with specific food allergies and dietary restrictions, the lack of transparency in food labeling poses significant health risks. Without clear labeling, these individuals are left in the dark, potentially facing painful and even life-threatening reactions.
Alarmingly, more than 50% of products in a typical grocery store contain at least one of these ambiguous ingredients. It is only reasonable for consumers to know exactly what is in their food. So often when reaching out to manufacturers for more specific details, I am only to be met with the excuse that their ingredient lists are "proprietary."
I urge you to support legislation that mandates full transparency from food manufacturers, requiring them to disclose every single ingredient used in their products. Such a requirement would not only protect public health but also build consumer trust in the food industry.
Please take action for the health and safety of all Americans. Thank you for your attention to this critical issue.
