An open letter to the U.S. Congress

The fix our forests act

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

This legislation poses significant risks to our public lands, endangered species, and community involvement in decision-making processes. By removing scientific review and public input requirements, it facilitates reckless logging that could exacerbate wildfire threats rather than mitigate them. Protecting old-growth trees and threatened species should be a priority, not an obstacle to overcompliance with industry interests. The Community Protection and Wildfire Resiliency Act represents a more balanced approach that safeguards both forests and communities through proven fire mitigation techniques and science-based forest management policies. Codifying this misguided act would undermine bedrock environmental laws and silence citizens' ability to hold agencies accountable. I urge you to reject this harmful legislation and instead support measures that put environmental protection and public safety first.
