Oppose the Budget Bill

I urge you to vote against the budget bill that is scheduled for a vote in the House tomorrow. This bill will have devastating consequences for many families in Southwest Virginia. Hardworking lower-income families will lose essential Medicaid coverage and SNAP benefits at a time when the cost of living is already extremely high. These cuts to safety net programs will also harm elderly individuals, people with disabilities, and veterans. Additionally, this bill will adversely affect our healthcare system, as hospitals and nursing homes in our area rely heavily on Medicaid funding to provide vital care and services to your constituents. Furthermore, this bill is fiscally irresponsible. It offers the largest tax cuts in history to the wealthy while significantly raising taxes on the average American. Your party has consistently talked about "waste, fraud, and abuse" over the past six months, yet you are now actively working to increase the country’s deficit by trillions of dollars to appease Trump and his billionaire allies. This is both hypocritical and shameful. It's time for you to stand up and do what is right for your constituents. Oppose this corrupt administration and this harmful bill, which will have lasting consequences well beyond your time in office.
