PragerU Kids Videos Do Not Belong in Florida K-12 Schools

The recent approval of PragerU Kids videos in Florida’s K-12 schools raises serious concerns. PragerU, a media company known for promoting conservative values, has been criticized for its content, which many view as propaganda rather than educational material.
Civic groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League have criticized PragerU’s videos, describing some as a “dog whistle to the extreme right” and “filled with anti-immigration and anti-Muslim rhetoric.” PragerU videos have claimed there’s no wage gap between men and women and that it has praised Confederate General Robert E. Lee for crushing an attempted slave rebellion. And others have noted inaccuracies in videos claiming that Europe is “committing suicide” by allowing mass migration, that “whiteness and conservatism” are under attack, and more.
The introduction of such content in public schools is entirely inappropriate. Ensuring our education system educates, not propagandizes, our students and fosters a tolerant and inclusive environment for everyone is crucial. Therefore, I request the decision to include PragerU Kids videos in the curriculum be reconsidered.
