Reject education budget cuts, protect public school funding

As a constituent deeply concerned about the proposed education budget cuts, I urge you to oppose any reconciliation bill that slashes funding or dismantles the Department of Education. Critical programs like TRIO, GEAR UP, IDEA, and civil rights enforcement must be protected not eliminated or starved of resources. Thousands of studies over many years have demonstrated the profound positive impact these programs have had on students and communities across the nation. Congress established the Department of Education and created these programs to address specific educational challenges and inequities. Defunding or abolishing them will only exacerbate those issues and overburden already underfunded state school systems. We can not afford to undermine decades of progress and investment in our children's futures. Maintain robust federal support for public education and reject these attempts to dismantle it.
