We shouldn’t be siding with Russia! Between the pointless diesel deal with Putin, the White House-ordered disabling of Starlink, and the lifting of Russian sanctions, the Trump administration has practically announced a new alliance with Russia against Ukraine and the EU. Major players in Russia have tweeted as much, posting on social media images of a US bald eagle and a Russian bear aligned against other world powers. This is an upheaval of our foreign policy, and puts us on the side of violent dictators and allied against our longtime friends. Why?? It certainly seems that this change is motivated by little more than our President’s mind-boggling fondness for Vladimir Putin. And likely by personal financial gain. Congress needs to act as a check against this blisteringly stupid and dangerous foreign policy. Speak out forcefully. Call out GOP colleagues that are remaining silent and complicit. Use the power invested in your office. Get us off this reckless path. We need you.
