Protect VA staffing, uphold commitment to quality veteran care

The proposed plan to fire 83,000 employees from the Department of Veterans Affairs is extremely concerning and would severely undermine the ability to provide quality care and services to our nation's veterans. Reducing staffing to 2019 levels would undo the progress and expanded capacity achieved through the PACT Act, which was passed with bipartisan support to ensure veterans exposed to toxic substances receive the healthcare they need and deserve. Slashing the VA workforce on this scale is unacceptable and will inevitably lead to longer wait times, reduced access to care, and a tremendous burden on the remaining staff. Veterans have sacrificed for this country, and we have a sacred obligation to care for them. This drastic reduction in staffing is an insult to that commitment. I urge you to vehemently oppose any efforts to drastically cut VA staffing and funding. Our veterans deserve better than having the services they were promised ripped away. Please fight to protect the VA's capacity to properly serve those who served our nation.
