Reject Bove's nomination to uphold judicial independence

The Department of Justice is in a concerning state of disarray under the current administration. Emil Bove's brazen efforts to undermine prosecutors, dismiss cases for political reasons, and retaliate against principled DOJ employees who uphold their oath of office represent an alarming threat to judicial independence and the rule of law. His attempt to weaponize the government against those maintaining integrity is an abuse of power that cannot be tolerated. Bove's actions in ordering the dismissal of the case against Mayor Eric Adams, over the objections of career prosecutors, and then retaliating against those who resigned in protest, demonstrate his unfitness for any position of public trust, let alone a lifetime appointment to the federal judiciary. A judge must be impartial and committed to upholding the Constitution, not carrying out a president's political agenda at the expense of due process and equal justice under the law. Bove's disturbing conduct illustrates his contempt for the separation of powers and his willingness to erode the independence of the judicial branch from partisan influence. Confirming him to the Third Circuit would severely undermine public faith in the impartiality of the courts. I urge you to firmly oppose his nomination and any others who show disdain for the foundational principles of our justice system. The judiciary must remain insulated from political interference.
