An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Vote Yes on Senate Joint Resolution 59

151 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

I urge you to vote yes on S.J.Res.59, the joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress. The Constitution gives Congress the sole authority to declare war and otherwise authorize military conflicts with other nations. The Senate should send a clear message to the Trump administration that they cannot simply decide to act militarily whenever they feel like it. The administration must respect Congress and involve that body in decision-making on any action that may result in loss of American lives, whether service members or civilians.
