NO to bad math big budget. Rein in ICE. Suboena Alina Habba I write today with strongest disapproval on three issues: 1. the bad budget, 2. ICE violation of Habeas corpus, 3. The unjust arrest of your colleague in Congress, Rep. McIver. First the budget bill is a cruel, corrupt and dangerous piece of partisan abuse of the legislative process. Trump promised not to cut Medicaid. This bill will kick 8 million off Medicaid. These cuts hit your constituents and will cause death. What for? To fund tax cuts for the oligarchs. This an immoral breach of a promise. The budget bill is also fiscally irresponsible. Read Today's Edition on it: "The Republican 2025 budget will Increase the deficit by $3 trillion over the next ten years; Increase the national debt limit by $4 trillion. Extend the 2017 tax cuts for millionaires and corporations, reducing tax revenue by $7 trillion. Slash Medicaid and food assistance programs by approximately $750 billion; and Make it more difficult to enroll in coverage under the Affordable Care Act. [T] he Republican bill widens deficits by about 13%, reducing spending but lowering revenue by more." I am also aghast at the inappropriate non budgetary provisions that have been shoe-horned into this bill. Incorporating measures to hobble TROs and creating a way to evade Contempt of court rulings is a mischievous, indeed, a wicked, attempt to undermine the correct authority of the courts. Those who incorporated this should be ashamed. Condemn this abuse. VOTE NO. 2. Rein in ICE. Kidnapping and detaining innocent people with extra judicial processes does not make America great. It makes us a nation of extra judicial cruelty and human rights abuse. What will it take for you to act? 3. Finally, please bring in Alina Habba for questioning under subpoena. I am outraged and terrified to see Trump's personal lawyer filing trumped up charges against an innocent opposition politician. This reeks of dictatorship. Who will be next? You? Your colleagues? Congress needs to find out who directed this. Who wrote the charges? Who gave instructions for them to be filed? This is a 5 alarm fire for our democracy. If you are not inclined to act consider how you would have reacted if Obama or Biden did the same.
