I am writing to demand that you take immediate action to end gerrymandering in every state, regardless of which party stands to benefit. Gerrymandering is nothing less than the manipulation of our democracy for political gain, and it is an insult to every American who believes in fair representation.
When politicians draw district lines to entrench their own power, they are effectively stealing the voice of the people. This is corruption in plain sight. It silences entire communities, distorts election outcomes, and makes representatives answerable to party leaders and donors instead of their constituents.
Gerrymandering deepens polarization by creating “safe seats” where politicians have no incentive to listen to those who disagree with them. It discourages competition, weakens accountability, and ensures that the outcome of many elections is decided long before the first ballot is cast. That is not democracy—it’s manipulation.
The American people deserve independent, nonpartisan redistricting processes that reflect real communities, not partisan maps designed in backrooms. Every vote should count equally, whether it comes from a rural county, a city block, or a suburban neighborhood.
The longer Congress allows gerrymandering to persist, the more faith the public loses in the integrity of our elections. If you believe in the Constitution, if you believe in equal representation, then you must take a stand now—pass legislation that bans partisan gerrymandering nationwide and guarantees fair maps for every American.
