An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (Ohio only)

Keep Fake Facts Out of Ohio Schools: Stop SB 276!

14 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

I am writing to demand action against the "success sequence" rule hidden inside SB 276. I expect the Governor to veto this bill, and I expect my lawmakers to publicly protect that veto and speak out against this bad legislation. This bill is wrong for Ohio for two big reasons: 1. It is a political ideology, not a fact. It forces schools to teach a narrow worldview as if it were science. The rule claims kids must graduate, work full-time, and get married in that exact order to have a good life. But real data shows the exact order does not actually matter. Our public schools should teach real evidence, not push personal politics. I expect my leaders to publicly stand up and speak out against forcing fake science into our classrooms.  2. It was passed using dirty tricks. Politicians hid this rule inside a totally different, helpful bill about school psychologists right before summer break. They did this to hide from the public and skip a fair debate. Good ideas do not need to be smuggled into a bill in order to get passed. Veto SB 276, protect the veto, and speak out against both the sneaky tricks and the non-factual content. Keep personal politics out of our schools.
