I fully support the articles of impeachment against Pete Hegseth. He is not qualified for the job of Secretary of Defense (or War, as he ridiculously styles himself.) He is culpable in the “Signalgate” scandal. Literally anyone would know that sharing information about a planned attack shouldn’t be discussed on personal devices over a commercially available app. He is too careless of American lives and security. Even worse, he is attacking small boats in the Caribbean and the Western Pacific. He says they are carrying drugs to the US but has provided absolutely no proof. He is blowing up unknown people and then, in a textbook example of a war crime, he is ordering that any survivors be killed. We should punish those who give illegal orders and commit war crimes. If Trump leaves him in place Congress must get rid of him through impeachment and conviction. I believe that Trump installed Hegseth because Hegseth will have no qualms about following Trump’s illegal orders. Hegseth wouldn’t balk at shooting peaceful protesters. Hegseth must go and Trump must see that Americans won’t put up with illegal behavior.
