Senate Bill S3032: Unleashing NYPA

I am writing to ask you to support Senate Bill S3032: "Relates to providing the New York power authority with the right of first offer and refusal; bans non-state run energy services companies; repealer." After seeing the disaster that is happening in Texas, I can say without a doubt we need to transition away from the for-profit model of utilities. NYPA has proven itself as efficient, reliable and more than capable. On the other hand, ConEd has proven that it is either inept or just completely profit hungry. Prices continue to skyrocket while quality of service and renewable generation goes nowhere. Meanwhile the de-regulation that created ESCOs is a disaster for this state and will lead to a situation such as in Texas where people are getting bills for hundreds of dollars per day. Please add your name to this bill and show the country that NY can be a force for good and lead in renewable energy, climate policy and economic justice. Thank you.
