End the War on Drugs!

For decades, the War on Drugs has not kept us safe – it has devastated Black, Latino, poor, and rural communities through mass incarceration, family separation, and racial profiling. It is time to replace punishment with care, coercion with community. We call on you to adopt a new approach rooted in dignity, health, and reparative justice: 1. Decriminalize all drugs for personal use – No more arrests, no more jail for simple possession. Immediately release and expunge records for every non-violent drug offense. 2. Fund harm reduction, not handcuffs – Pass the Safer Consumption Services Act to authorize overdose prevention centers. Redirect opioid settlement money away from police and toward peer-led syringe access, naloxone, and community mental health. 3. Make cannabis equity real – Cancel predatory loans to social equity licensees. Support worker‑owned cooperatives and community farming. Reinvest tax revenue into neighborhoods most harmed by prohibition. 4. Reject involuntary commitment – Fund voluntary, community‑based de-escalation and trauma‑informed care instead of forced treatment. We demand an end to the racist, colonial drug war. We choose mutual aid, healing, and freedom.
