Stop sending weapons to Israel: support the Joint Resolutions of Disapproval
1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
As your constituent, I’m writing to urge you to support and cosponsor Joint Resolutions of Disapproval in the Senate (SJ Res. 11 sponsored by Sen. Bernie Sanders) and in the House (HJ Res. 68 sponsored by Rep. Pramila Jayapal) to block more weapons for Israel's genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
These arms will only fuel further violence against Palestinian civilians in Gaza, where Israel has already killed tens of thousands and continues to violate international law by restricting humanitarian aid.
Since breaking the ceasefire on March 17th, Israel has killed more than 1,000 Palestinians, bringing the total verified death toll to more than 50,000 massacred over the last 18 months. This number does not account for thousands of Palestinians still missing, buried under rubble or in unmarked mass graves.
Beyond the sheer scale of violence, Israel has targeted protected actors: medical workers and journalists. Last week, 15 medics and emergency responders who were clearly marked as medical and humanitarian personnel were found buried in a mass grave, plowed over by Israeli military bulldozers. According to the U.N., Israel has killed more than 100 Civil Defense workers and more than 1,000 health workers since October 2023. Also last week, two journalists - Hossam Shabat of Al Jazeera and Mohammed Mansour of Palestine Today - were targeted and murdered; over 200 journalists have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza over the last 18 months.
These are war crimes by any measure. The U.S. continues to enable these atrocities by providing the weapons and funding that Israel uses to commit these crimes.
You have the power to help stop these arms sales. I urge you to take a stand against these reckless transfers and support efforts to block them. If you have already signed on, thank you for your leadership. If not, I ask you to act now in defense of human rights and international law.
