Urgent concern regarding HHS administrative instability and legal overreach

I am writing to express my grave concern regarding the current leadership of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
While political perspectives on health policy vary, the minimum requirement of any Cabinet Secretary is administrative competence and adherence to the law. Last week’s federal court ruling in Boston, which stayed the Secretary’s attempt to overhaul the childhood vaccine schedule, highlights a pattern of governing by decree that bypasses the Administrative Procedure Act. When a federal judge labels a Secretary’s hand-picked advisory panel as "distinctly unqualified," it signals a breakdown in the basic functions of the Executive Branch.
The resulting chaos is not theoretical. With over 1,300 measles cases reported this year and the cancellation of vital ACIP expert meetings, our national health security is being compromised by a lack of stable, evidence-based leadership.
As my representative in the Senate, I demand that you:
1. Support bipartisan oversight hearings to investigate the legality of recent personnel changes at HHS.
2. Use your power over funding to ensure taxpayer funds are not used for initiatives that have been deemed legally or scientifically unsound by the courts.
The American people deserve an HHS Secretary who prioritizes the rule of law over personal ideology.
