Abolish ICE, Close the Detention Camps, and Fund Trauma Support Now

Shut down ICE, release everyone held in federal immigration detention, and fund mental health and trauma support for the communities this administration has terrorized. The federal indictment of 15 Minnesotans from Direct Action Minnesota — people whose alleged crimes include attending meetings, sharing protest information, and encouraging others to show up — makes clear that this administration is using the Justice Department as a weapon against anyone who dares organize in opposition to mass deportations. Erik Davis, a 53-year-old Buddhist studies professor, was arrested on his way to a medical appointment. The indictment doesn't accuse him of a single violent act or any encounter with an ICE agent. Natasha Rakotz faces 26 years in prison over a car collision the state originally cited as a minor misdemeanor before federal prosecutors took over. Minnesota US Attorney Daniel Rosen explicitly said physical harm wasn't the measure of criminality here. That's not law enforcement — that's political persecution designed to silence dissent and destroy lives in the process. These prosecutions need to end. The people locked in detention need to be freed. And the families torn apart, the communities living in fear, the individuals traumatized by raids and disappearances — they need real, funded support. This is happening in Minnesota. Do your job and stop it.
