An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Condemn Jan. 6 pardons, defend democracy and rule of law

6 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

The decision to pardon those involved in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol represents a grave injustice and undermines the rule of law. The rioters engaged in violent acts against law enforcement officers and sought to overturn the results of a free and fair election through force. Absolving them of responsibility disrespects the courage of the police who defended the Capitol that day and the democratic principles upon which our nation was founded. This action further emboldens extremist groups and could inspire future political violence. As a concerned citizen, I urge you to condemn these pardons and take decisive steps to uphold the integrity of our justice system and democratic institutions. We cannot allow such egregious attacks on our democracy to go unpunished.
