An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives
Cosponsor H.J.Res. 86 immediately — stop arming Israel now
6 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!
I’m writing to demand that you cosponsor H.J.Res. 86 immediately and publicly support its passage.
H.J.Res. 86 is a congressional disapproval resolution under the Arms Export Control Act that would block the proposed foreign military sale described in Transmittal No. 25–0C—a massive cost increase tied to a long-running case for U.S.-supplied bomb bodies, JDAM guidance kits, Small Diameter Bombs, and fuses.
According to the Congressional Record, this notification reports an increase of $624,000,000 in Major Defense Equipment and $269,000,000 in non-MDE, raising the total case value to $1.54 billion. And it explicitly states the Administration invoked an “emergency” determination to waive normal congressional review for this sale. That is not “oversight.” That is contempt for the public and for Congress’s constitutional role.
Here is the bottom line: stop denying what is happening and stop arming it. You do not represent weapons contractors, lobbyists, or “strategic partner” talking points—you represent people who are sick of watching our government bankroll mass death and then pretend we are helpless to stop it.
Cosponsoring H.J.Res. 86 is the minimum. I expect you to:
1. Cosponsor H.J.Res. 86 now and tell constituents you did it.
2. Vote YES if/when it comes to the floor.
3. Call for an end to U.S. weapons transfers to Israel—no more loopholes, “emergencies,” or quiet authorizations.
If you refuse, don’t insult us with vague statements about “concern” or “monitoring.” History will not be fooled by performative regret after the fact—and neither will voters.
I expect a written response stating whether you have cosponsored H.J.Res. 86 and, if not, exactly why you are choosing to keep these weapons flowing.
