An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Defy a Subpoena, Face Consequences—Enforce the Law Now

364 so far! Help us get to 500 signers!

I am writing to demand immediate enforcement of the law by Congress. Pam Bondi was lawfully subpoenaed to testify under oath before the House Oversight and Reform Committee. She did not appear. That is not a minor infraction—it is a clear, deliberate violation of federal law. If I ignored a congressional subpoena, I would be in handcuffs. Full stop. Why is Pam Bondi above the law? She is not just any witness—she is a former Attorney General and a lawyer who understands exactly what a subpoena requires. Her absence is not confusion or oversight. It is willful defiance of Congress and the Constitution itself. And what is she refusing to answer for? The Department of Justice’s failure to comply with a binding legal requirement to release the full Epstein files by December 19. Instead, the public has received only a partial, heavily redacted release—far beyond what the law allows. That raises serious questions about obstruction and a potential cover-up. Congress does not get to issue subpoenas and then shrug when they are ignored. You make the laws. You have the authority to enforce them. If you refuse to act now, you are signaling to every powerful person in this country that compliance is optional. Representative Jasmine Crockett has already made it clear: this subpoena was lawful, and defiance will be met with contempt proceedings. Representative Robert Garcia is right—laws mean nothing if they are not enforced. So here is the question: Are subpoenas binding, or are they just suggestions for the powerful? Will Pam Bondi be held in contempt of Congress—yes or no? Will Congress enforce the law equally, or will it continue to carve out exceptions for those with power and connections? This is not abstract. This is not political theater. This is the rule of law. Right now, it is being tested—and it is failing. If Congress cannot or will not enforce its own subpoenas, then it is conceding that the law does not apply equally in the United States. That is unacceptable. Hold her in contempt. Compel her testimony. Enforce the law—immediately and without exception. I expect a direct answer detailing what actions you will take.
