Keep Environmental Protections

I’m very angry over efforts to roll back environmental protections that are vital to the health of our communities. Increasing carbon dioxide emissions directly worsens climate change, threatening our homes, health, and future. Mercury exposure has been linked to serious developmental issues, and lead contamination — at any level — is especially dangerous for children, pregnant people, and communities of color, who are often hit first and worst by environmental injustice. That’s why I strongly oppose any efforts to halt the Biden-era program to replace lead pipes across the U.S. This program is a critical step toward clean, safe water for all. The current anti-environment agenda — including those advanced under figures like Lee Zeldin — stands in direct violation of the EPA’s core mission: to protect human health and the environment. I urge you to reject these harmful efforts and take immediate action to ensure the EPA is fully funded and empowered to continue its essential work. Our communities deserve protection, not politics.
