As your constituent, I am asking for your support of HB4475, the Strengthening Mental Health and Substance Use Parity Act, and for you to encourage Senate leadership to support the bill for lame duck session.
This bill will require private insurers to pay as much for mental, behavioral, and substance abuse health care as they do for physical health care, making it financially possible for care providers to keep working in this field while significantly improving access to behavioral healthcare for thousands of Illinoisans.
Mental, behavioral, and substance abuse health care is health care, and health care is a human right. Your constituents need you to pass this bill.
