PETITION: DEMAND CHUCK SCHUMER’S RESIGNATION AND EMERGENCY DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP To the Democratic Caucus of the United States Senate: We, the undersigned, demand the immediate resignation of Chuck Schumer as Senate Democratic Leader. This is not a routine political disagreement. This is a democratic emergency. There is no safe place to flee when America goes rogue. There is no external power that will step in to “save” American democracy. There is no second America to protect the first. The responsibility to defend constitutional government rests with the people and their elected representatives—now. Yet at the very moment when decisive opposition is required, Senate Democratic leadership has responded with caution, delay, and procedural theater. The federal government is deploying force domestically, eroding due process, and acting without meaningful oversight. Internationally, reckless actions and threats are destabilizing global norms and placing the United States in direct conflict with democratic allies. These are not abstract risks—they are unfolding in real time. And still, Democratic leadership has failed to act with urgency. Chuck Schumer’s tenure has been defined by: • A refusal to use funding leverage, voting power, and procedural tools to halt executive abuse • A pattern of protecting institutional “normalcy” rather than confronting authoritarian escalation • A failure to treat impeachment and accountability as emergency constitutional duties • Public messaging that minimizes the severity of the crisis instead of mobilizing opposition This is gross incompetence at a moment when competence is not optional. Democratic voters did not elect their representatives to give speeches while constitutional violations continue unchecked. We elected them to use power—including withholding votes, blocking funding, and forcing accountability—until the rule of law is restored. That cannot happen under current leadership. It is about survival of democratic governance. History will not excuse timidity.
History will not reward politeness.
History will not forgive leaders who mistook an authoritarian crisis for “business as usual.” Replace failed leadership.
