Between 700 and 900 people die from pregnancy and childbirth related causes every year. People of color die from pregnancy/childbirth related causes at over 3 times the rate of white people. The United States has the highest maternal mortality rate compared to any of its peer countries at roughly 23 deaths per 100,000 births as of 2020. Abortion access is a human rights issue. I urge you to take swift action. End the filibuster. Codify Roe v. Wade.
