I am respectfully requesting that impeachment proceedings be initiated against the former President, Donald Trump, for his numerous alleged violations of the public trust and abuses of power during his time in office. The articles of impeachment introduced in H. Res. 353 outline serious charges spanning obstruction of justice, usurpation of congressional authority, abuse of trade powers, violations of the First Amendment, creation of an unlawful office, bribery and corruption, and tyrannical conduct. These allegations strike at the heart of our democratic system of checks and balances and the rule of law. No person, regardless of position, should be above accountability for such egregious transgressions against their constitutional duties. Allowing these violations to go unaddressed would set a dangerous precedent and further erode faith in our institutions. An impeachment inquiry would provide the proper forum to thoroughly investigate and evaluate the substantial evidence supporting these charges. The American people deserve a full accounting and the opportunity to render judgment through their elected representatives. I urge you to uphold your sworn oath to defend the Constitution by supporting impeachment proceedings and a fair trial on the merits of H. Res. 353. Restoring accountability and reinforcing our nation's commitment to democratic principles is of paramount importance for the health of our republic.
