An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Please defund and shut down the Florida concentration camp

392 so far! Help us get to 500 signers!

Please demand access to Trump’s Florida concentration camp (branded as “Alligator Alcatraz”) AND stop any federal funds from being used for this inhumane facility until it is shut down. No person should be subjected to the conditions being reported in this facility: • It has flooded & has massive swarms of large mosquitoes • Detainees report maggots in their food, lights on 24/7, and being denied basic medical care, showers, & religious rights. • Legal and family visits nearly impossible due to remote location • Nearly impossible to evacuate in the event of hurricane Everything about the place dehumanizes immigrants in the name of state-sponsored cruelty. I don’t want my tax dollars supporting it. Our government must end this cruel & unusual assault on human dignity. If they are not committing human rights violations, then they should allow elected officials to conduct unannounced oversight, with no funding until they meet this condition. Please defund and shut down Trump’s cruel concentration camp in Florida.
