An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (Texas only)
Defend the Constitution – Stop Forcing Religion into Classrooms
27 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!
I am outraged by the blatant attack on our Constitution through efforts to force the Ten Commandments into every public classroom in Texas. This is not about faith—it is about power, and it is a direct violation of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
Separation of church and state is not optional. It is the law of the land. Public schools are meant to serve all students, regardless of their religion or lack of religion. By mandating a religious display, you are trampling on the rights of millions of Texas children and families who do not all share the same faith.
And let’s be very clear: Attorney General Ken Paxton is openly disregarding the law. While Texans are expected to follow the law every single day, Paxton is demanding that schools break it—even as there are active court cases challenging these unconstitutional mandates. No public official should ever be above the law, yet Paxton acts as though he is untouchable. This is not leadership. It is lawlessness.
Texas students deserve classrooms that respect their rights, not classrooms turned into battlegrounds for political and religious agendas. Our schools should be places of learning, not indoctrination.
I urge you to put an immediate stop to this unconstitutional overreach. Uphold the law, respect the Constitution, and protect the freedoms of every Texan—not just those who share your personal beliefs.
