An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Reject threats to judicial independence and separation of powers

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The Constitution established separate and co-equal branches of government to maintain a system of checks and balances. The executive branch does not have authority over the federal judiciary, which must remain independent to uphold the rule of law and protect individual rights. Attempts to bring the courts under White House control would violate this foundational principle of American democracy. This lawsuit seeking to declare key judicial bodies as agencies under the President's purview poses a direct threat to judicial independence and the separation of powers. We must firmly reject any efforts that would undermine this essential constitutional framework and concentration of power in the executive branch.
