An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Social security concerns

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

First, I am writing to express my horror at Trump’s March 14 Executive Order targeting the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Museums and libraries are some of our most precious public commodities. I urge congress to work to prevent the administration from moving forward with this. Second, I understand that the acting head of the Social Security Administration is threatening to shut down the whole agency because Elon Musk disagrees with yesterday’s court ruling. What is happening? Get Musk and his goons out of Social Security! 73 million of us rely on those earned benefits. What Musk and DOGE are doing is illegal, dangerous, and cruel. When will Congress stand up for us? Shut them down NOW! Third, please replace Chuck. In the current times we need a strong leader who is not afraid to get dirty and stop treating it as business as usual. Nothing about this is normal and we need to wake up and stop pretending. Thanks
