Demand Answers on Who Is Writing DOJ Legal Briefs

The Justice Department owes the public an explanation for who is actually writing its legal filings. On April 27, 2026, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, Trent McCotter, and Stanley Woodward submitted a brief in the White House ballroom case containing language that was word-for-word identical to a Truth Social post Trump published months later. Either Trump's social media posts are being ghostwritten from DOJ filings, or Trump's own words are being laundered into official court documents. Neither is acceptable. (https://www.lawdork.com/p/trump-truth-social-reusued-doj-brief-language) This isn't a quirk of style. It's evidence that DOJ's lawyers are functioning as the president's personal attorneys, not as independent officers of the law. Attorney General Pam Bondi said as much when she described DOJ lawyers as "his lawyers." Official legal filings submitted to federal courts must reflect independent legal judgment, not presidential talking points. I want you to demand a full accounting of how this brief was drafted and who provided its language.
