Hold Israel Accountable for Its Ongoing Ceasefire Violations

We are deeply concerned about President Trump’s recent remarks calling for Israel to disregard its ceasefire agreement with Hamas and to “let all hell break out” unless Hamas releases Israeli captives by Saturday at noon. It is crucial to recognize that Israel has repeatedly violated the terms of the ceasefire by preventing Palestinians from returning to the northern district, intentionally targeting civilians throughout Gaza, and obstructing essential humanitarian aid, including food, water, fuel, shelter, and medical supplies. In contrast, Hamas has fully complied with the ceasefire agreement. Rather than threatening Hamas, which has adhered to the terms of the ceasefire, the United States must use its leverage to pressure Israel to honor the agreement and comply with international law and human rights standards. I strongly urge Congress to take immediate action to hold Israel accountable for its ongoing violations.
